Obama Administration Issues Directive to Expand Public Access to Federally Funded Research

The White House Office of Science and Technology Policy has issued a directive on Public Access to Articles and Data. This comes three and a half years after 60 Oberlin group Presidents signed a letter in support of FRPAA (Federal Research Public Access Act.) (February 21, 2013)

Public Access to Peer-Reviewed Scholarly Publications Based on Federally Funded Research

In response to the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Request for Information on public access to peer-reviewed scholarly publications resulting from federally-funded research, the Oberlin Group submitted comments on behalf of the 80 members. With the threat of the Research Works Act (HR3699) possibly turning back the progress made by the NIH mandate, this is a critical time for libraries to respond and advocate for more access, not less.
